Apart from writing, my other main passions are travel and cycling. I also used to work for the disaster relief charity ShelterBox and continue to be a strong supporter of their work.
In 2010, my wife and I managed to combine all of these interests and set off on a 10,000-mile cycle ride across North America, New Zealand and parts of Australia and Europe to promote the work of ShelterBox.
We also managed to raise nearly £50,000 for the charity as a result of our journey. To visit the blog about our ride, click here.
After finishing our ride in July 2011, we returned to Portugal where we both work as TEFL teachers. In my spare time, I’m working on a blog to provide general information and ideas for rides for any cyclists visiting Portugal.
